John Surowiecki to read in March

John Surowiecki will read from his poetry on

This reading is part of The Hygienic first Thursday of the month reading series, and is free and open to the public. Donations are always accepted.

John Surowiecki is the author of three books of poetry, Barney and Gienka (CW Books, 2010), The Hat City after Men Stopped Wearing Hats (Word Works, 2007, Washington Prize), Watching Cartoons before Attending a Funeral (White Pine Press, 2003, White Pine Prize), and five chapbooks.

A sixth chapbook, Mr. Z., Mrs. Z., J.Z., S.Z., has been recently released by Ugly Duckling Presse. John’s poems will also appear in the forthcoming Hecht Prize Anthology (Waywiser Press) and the Sunken Garden Anthology (Wesleyan Press).

In recent years, he has won the Poetry Foundation Pegasus Award for verse drama, the Nimrod Pablo Neruda Prize and took the silver in the Sunken Garden National Competition.

Publications include: Alaska Quarterly Review, Folio, Cider Press Review, Gargoyle, Margie, Oyez Review,
Mississippi Review, Poetry, Prairie Schooner, Redivider, West Branch and Wisconsin Review.
