Prompt a Day Month (Day 4): Close encounter

For today, write a poem with this theme: an unexpected encounter with an old flame. It could be based on a real encounter or imagine how it might/should go.

  1. Her name was Irene.
    She blew into town
    unexpectedly,
    altho’ there were predictions of
    her eminent arrival.
    She busted in full of
    bluster.
    No one was quite prepared
for the fury of her wrath.
    First came the blast,
    lots of wind to begin.
    Then, she resorted to
    tears –
    enought to flood
    the whole place.
    Suddenly,
    all was still.
    Except
    the devistation
    caused by
    a broken
    heart.
