Check this out… poets at the Arts & Ideas Festival in New Haven next week…
Four poets who have been featured readers at Pi-New Haven will soon be performing their work at The International Festival of Arts and Ideas, in New Haven! Ravi Shankar, Kate Rushin, Bessy Reyna, Randall Horton, and others will read poems about Connecticut Freedom Trail sites. Our audiences loved them when they read at the Poetry Institute, so this is sure to be a great event!

As the nation memorializes the 150th anniversary of the outbreak of the Civil War, Connecticut honors its diverse cultural history. Robert Stanton, Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Interior, former Director of the National Park Service, and noted African-American environmentalist will talk about the importance to preserve and commemorate heritage sites. In this presentation, poets Kate Rushin, Gabrielle Calvocoressi, Jarita Davis, Randall Horton, Bessy Reyna, and Ravi Shankar recite the poetry they wrote to celebrate CT Freedom Trail sites. Moderated by Laura Wexler, Professor of American Studies at Yale University.
