Submission suggestions

Here are a few local places to submit your poems…

**Hill-Stead Museum, home of the Sunken Garden Poetry Festival is pleased to
announce THEODATE, a seasonal on-line poetry journal. On-line submissions are
now being accepted for the inaugural issue: Fall/Winter 2011-12. THEODATE
accepts only on-line submissions of unpublished poetry for its New Works section

and The Daily Ekphrasis. More info: email Brad Davis, editor, at

Caduceus, a collection of poetry, is accepting submissions. The collection is
sponsored by the Yale Medical Group and Art Place, and its publication has been

celebrated with readings at the Yale Physician’s Building, the Yale Bookstore
and other local venues. The anthology will be available to patients visiting
the Physician’s building in the reception areas. The collection will have a
medical emphasis, however all types and styles of work are sought.

**COMMON GROUND REVIEW Fall/Winter issue. Deadline: August 31, 2011.

Submit up to three poems. We will also showcase a short work of creative
non-fiction in the Fall/Winter issue. Submit only one per issue. We look for
well-crafted poems under 61 lines. Poems should be single-spaced indicating
stanza breaks. If other than single spacing is integral to the poem, please
indicate where breaks occur. Creative non-fiction must be no more than 12 pages,

double-spaced. Manuscripts must bear the author’s name, address, email address
and phone number. A brief biography and SASE must also be included. We will
accept simultaneous submissions, but we do not accept previously published work.

If you intend to submit work simultaneously, tell us so in your submission cover

letter. However, once we have notified you of an acceptance, it will be
published as a first time publication. All rights revert back to the author
after publication. We do not accept responsibility for incorrect guidelines
obtained from other websites or outdated sources.
