1946. North Africa (the Marghreb, in Arabic) influences the imagery and fervor
of his writings. Jean-Yves has taught French on the Secondary and University
levels, tutored businessmen and travelers, and translated both scientific and
literary works.Clair-Obscur of the Soul [Little Red Tree Publishers]is his first
published collection of poetry (also published in French as Clair-obscur de
l’âme), taking its title from the “chiaroscuro” cultural splits in his view of
the world. Other books include In The Shade Of A Flower (lyrical prose) and
Landscape Of Envies. Jean-Yves’ is primarily influenced by the great French and
English philosophers and Romantic poets, but, as a cinéphile, he also draws
inspiration from movies. Come help us welcome JEAN-YVES SOLINGA to the store on
July 6th and share some of your own poetry too! Tune in to J-Cherry Presents
