We will have a meeting this Tuesday, Feb. 21 in the Scranton Library in Madison’s Local History Room at 7 pm. Hope to see you there.
I want to let everyone know that the Acton Library in Old Saybrook is currently accepting submissions for their annual poetry contest. Please take a look at their flyer for all the details. It’s always a good contest, and the reading they host for the winners is great to attend, whether you enter or not. We’ve had many of our fellows recognized (last year Laurie was among the winners).
Say hello to 2017, and join us on Tuesday, Jan. 3 in the Alexander Lounge Room of the Guilford Community Center at 7 p.m. Please bring your own work to share, and also feel free to bring a work by another published poet to read.
Since it’s the start of a new year, we can also discuss any writing-related goals you might have for the year, and find out if there are any ways the group can help/support that goal.
I wanted to express my thanks to all who attend our reading last weekend and donated so much food. I had the distinct privilege to drop it off at the Guilford Food Bank this morning… it was quite an impressive amount and I could tell the woman who accepted it was grateful. Thanks again.
And, we will have a meeting next Tuesday, Nov. 15 in the local history room of the Madison Library at 7 p.m. Hope to see you there.
Wishing a Happy Veterans Day to all who have served and their families. Your sacrifices should always be honored.
Greetings all. We will have a meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 1 at 7 p.m. in the Guilford Community Center in the Leete Room. Hope to see you there.
Also, the Shoreline Cluster Poets will host a poetry reading on Saturday, Nov. 5 at 11 a.m. in the lower level of the Scranton Memorial Library in Madison. The event is free and open to the public (readers or listeners). We will also collect food donations for the local food bank. Anyone who would like to read should contact Rudy through this site. Please spread the word.
