What are you reading?
While I have not been writing anything “whole” lately (I still write every day, because stabbing at dirt can polish the knife), I have been reading some interesting books. I am not much of a fiction fan, so I tend towards the books that can teach me something.
Currently I am working on three:
1. Reclaiming Our Food: How the Grassroots Food Movement Is Changing the Way We Eat
A great look at organizations and farms across North America that are working hard to bring real food back to tables.
2. Inquiries Into the Nature of Slow Money: Investing as if Food, Farms, and Fertility Mattered
A take on investing where you live on the people, soil and food that impact your life.
3. The Green Collar Economy: How One Solution Can Fix Our Two Biggest Problems
The destruction of our environment and the continued depression of our economy of the two biggest problems noted in the title. The idea of green collar jobs can help put people back to work in meaningful employment while pushing the U.S. towards energy independence (read: no oil). Pretty amazing stuff.
So, what are you reading??

Hens on the nest
One of the beautiful things about keeping chickens is knowing exactly where your eggs comes from. Here’s a little inside the coop video showing where our eggs are laid.
